In short
The best pre-wedding shoot locations in Hyderabad and across India, from Araku and Coorg to Pondicherry and Chirala, with what it costs and how to plan it.
The places we have shot, the ones couples ask about most, and how to choose between a city afternoon and a trip across India.
A pre-wedding shoot is the one part of the wedding that belongs only to the two of you. We shoot them all over India, from Hyderabad to Coorg. Here is where, and how to choose.
In and around Hyderabad
Hyderabad has heritage, lakes and rocky hills within easy reach of each other, so two very different looks can fit into a single day.
- Qutb Shahi Tombs. Domes and arches in warm stone, at their best in the late afternoon light.
- Golconda Fort. Ramparts, stairways and long views over the old city. Arrive early, before the crowds and the heat.
- Chowmahalla Palace. Courtyards, chandeliers and fountains for a royal, traditional look. Ask about permission well ahead.
- Ananthagiri Hills. Forest, mist and winding roads near Vikarabad, at their greenest during and just after the monsoon.
- Somewhere that is simply yours. Not every shoot needs a monument. One of ours was at a go-karting track in Hyderabad: loud, fast and completely theirs.
Beaches
- Chirala, Andhra Pradesh. Wide, quiet beaches near Guntur and Vijayawada, with far fewer people than the better-known coasts.
- Vizag. The sea, the hills of the Eastern Ghats and long beach roads, all in one city. A natural choice for families from Andhra.
- Pondicherry. Colourful streets in the French Quarter in the morning and the beach in the evening: two very different looks a few minutes apart.
Hills and coffee estates
- Araku Valley. Coffee plantations, valleys and morning mist, reached by a scenic train ride from Vizag. Winter mornings are the most beautiful.
- Coorg, Karnataka. Coffee estates, waterfalls and green hills. The monsoon is lush but wet, so October to March is easier to plan.
Temples and heritage
- Melkote, Karnataka. A temple town on a hill, with stone steps, pillared halls and a large temple tank. Perfect for a traditional look in silk and jewellery.
- Chennai. Old temples, colonial buildings and the sea along the East Coast Road.
- Hampi, Karnataka. Giant boulders and the ruins of the Vijayanagara empire, unlike anywhere else in India. Best in winter.
Further across India
If you want somewhere neither of you has been, Goa's beaches and old Portuguese houses, Udaipur's lakes and palaces, the backwaters of Kerala, the mountains around Manali and the clear water of the Andaman Islands all make shoots that feel like a trip together. We travel with you, and the planning is the same as for a shoot close to home.
What a pre-wedding shoot costs with us
A pre-wedding shoot is an add-on to your wedding quotation, never a separate package. In Build Your Quote today it is ₹50,000 in and around Hyderabad and ₹70,000 at a destination in India.
How we plan it
Before the shoot, your shoot lead gets on a call with you to fix the locations, the outfits and a song reference for the film. Everything from that call is saved in your Journey in The Big Day app, so nothing is decided at the location and nothing is remembered wrong.
